Submitting your work to The Garden Anthology is an exciting step in sharing your creative vision. To ensure your piece receives the consideration it deserves, please carefully review these guidelines. We're looking for unique voices and perspectives that add vibrancy to our collection.
What We're Looking For:
The Garden Anthology is a diverse collection, encompassing a wide range of creative expression. While we welcome diverse styles, we are particularly interested in pieces that evoke the themes of nature, growth, transformation, and the interconnectedness of life. This can manifest in various ways, including (but not limited to):
- Poetry: From free verse to sonnets, we welcome poems that explore the beauty, fragility, and power of the natural world.
- Short Stories: Fictional narratives that engage with themes of nature, human connection, and environmental issues are highly encouraged.
- Creative Nonfiction: Essays, memoirs, and personal narratives that explore experiences related to gardens, nature, or environmental stewardship are welcome.
- Artwork: We accept high-resolution images of photography, painting, sculpture, and other visual art forms that resonate with the anthology's themes. Please ensure your artwork is original and you retain all necessary rights.
Submission Requirements:
- Word Count/Length: For poetry, please submit up to 3 poems, with a maximum of 50 lines each. For short stories, please submit one story with a maximum word count of 5,000 words. Creative Nonfiction submissions should not exceed 5,000 words. For artwork, please submit up to 3 pieces with high-resolution images (at least 300 DPI).
- Formatting: Please submit your work as a single .doc, .docx, or .pdf file. All submissions must include your name, contact information, and a brief biographical note (50-100 words). Artwork submissions should include the title, medium, and year of creation.
- Originality: All submissions must be original work, not previously published or currently under consideration elsewhere. We reserve the right to reject submissions that violate copyright laws.
- Simultaneous Submissions: Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please notify us immediately if your piece is accepted elsewhere.
